Returns & Refunds

Corey Technical wants every customer to receive the correct equipment in the expected condition.

If you need to return an item, contact us first at hello@coreytechnical.co.uk with your order number and a brief description of your issue.

Do this before sending anything so we can understand the circumstances, confirm the appropriate process and provide the correct return instructions.

Returns are handled according to the reason for the return, whether the purchase was made as a business or consumer, the condition of the equipment and any applicable statutory rights.

Please do not return equipment to our registered office, the manufacturer or another address without authorisation from Corey Technical.

Clear return process

Contact Corey Technical first and we will confirm the information required and the appropriate return instructions.

Support with damaged or faulty equipment

If equipment arrives damaged, incorrect or develops a fault, we will help establish the appropriate next step.

Your statutory rights are protected

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any statutory rights that apply to your purchase.

How to request a return

Before returning any equipment, contact Corey Technical and provide:

  • your order number;
  • your name or company name;
  • the product and configuration concerned;
  • the serial number, where available;
  • the reason for requesting the return;
  • photographs if the equipment or packaging is damaged; and
  • a description of any suspected fault.

We will review the request and provide the appropriate return instructions. Depending on the circumstances, we may need to obtain additional information or coordinate the return with the relevant manufacturer or supplier.

Goods sent without prior authorisation may be delayed, refused or returned to the sender.

Change-of-mind returns

If you are a consumer and purchase online, you will normally have the right to notify us that you wish to cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods. After notifying us, you will normally have a further 14 days in which to return them.

Certain exclusions may apply, including to goods that have been genuinely personalised or made to a customer’s individual specification. Selecting a standard camera, lens or accessory option does not by itself necessarily mean that an item is custom-made.

Business customers do not automatically receive the same statutory cooling-off rights as consumers. Change-of-mind returns for purchases made wholly or mainly for business purposes are therefore subject to the applicable quotation, order terms and prior approval from Corey Technical.

Please contact us before ordering if your organisation requires a specific cancellation or returns arrangement.

Return authorisation and instructions

Do not send equipment back until Corey Technical has confirmed that the return has been authorised and provided the correct return address.

The return address may differ according to the product, manufacturer and reason for return. Equipment should not be sent to our registered office unless we specifically instruct you to do so.

Where a return reference or authorisation number is provided, it must be clearly included with the returned equipment.

Condition of returned equipment

Unless the equipment is being returned because it arrived damaged or faulty, it should be returned in the condition in which it was received and include all originally supplied components, including where applicable:

  • the camera and selected lens;
  • batteries and charging equipment;
  • cables and adapters;
  • cases, bags and protective covers;
  • documentation;
  • accessories;
  • bundled or promotional items; and
  • the original product packaging.

Consumers may inspect goods to establish their nature, characteristics and function in the same way that they reasonably could in a shop. A deduction may be made from a refund where handling beyond what is reasonably necessary has reduced the value of the equipment, where permitted by law.

Professional thermal imaging equipment should not be used for inspections, commercial work or data collection if you intend to return it because you have changed your mind.

Return packaging and shipping

Returned equipment must be packaged securely to protect it during transit. Wherever reasonably possible, use the original product packaging inside a suitable protective outer carton.

For an approved change-of-mind return, the customer is normally responsible for arranging and paying for return delivery unless Corey Technical agrees otherwise or applicable law requires a different arrangement.

We strongly recommend using a tracked and adequately insured service appropriate to the value of the equipment. The customer remains responsible for the return until it has been received at the authorised return address.

Where an incorrect item has been supplied, or equipment is confirmed to have arrived damaged or faulty, Corey Technical will explain the appropriate collection or return arrangements.

Damaged deliveries

Please inspect the parcel and equipment as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If the external packaging or equipment appears damaged:

  • photograph the parcel before opening it;
  • photograph any visible damage to the equipment;
  • retain the packaging and all supplied materials;
  • make a note of anything missing; and
  • contact Corey Technical promptly.

Do not dispose of the packaging or arrange an unauthorised return, as the courier or manufacturer may require photographs, packaging or additional information when the issue is assessed.

Reporting delivery damage promptly helps us raise the matter with the courier and arrange the appropriate resolution. This request does not affect any statutory rights that apply to you.

Incorrect or incomplete orders

If you believe that the wrong product, lens, accessory or quantity has been delivered, contact Corey Technical before using the equipment.

Please provide your order number, details of what you expected to receive and photographs of the delivered items and packaging where possible. We will compare the delivery with your confirmed order and arrange the appropriate next step.

Faulty equipment

If equipment appears to be faulty, contact Corey Technical before returning it. We may ask for photographs, video, sample thermal images, error messages, software or firmware details and a description of the circumstances in which the issue occurs.

Some issues can be resolved through settings, firmware, software configuration, lens installation or other guided checks. If the equipment needs to be inspected, repaired or replaced, we will provide the relevant instructions.

Faults arising after the initial returns period may be handled through the applicable manufacturer warranty. Full details are available on our Warranty & Faults page.

Return inspection

All returned equipment may be inspected before a refund, replacement or other resolution is confirmed.

The inspection may check:

  • the identity and serial number of the product;
  • the condition of the equipment;
  • whether all supplied components have been returned;
  • signs of use, damage or alteration;
  • the reported fault; and
  • whether any saved data or customer accounts remain on the device.

The time required will depend on the product and reason for return. We will keep you informed if assessment by the manufacturer or another technical specialist is required.

Refunds

Approved refunds will be made to the original payment method unless a different arrangement is expressly agreed and permitted.

For an eligible consumer cancellation, Corey Technical will process the refund within the period required by applicable law. We may withhold the refund until the returned goods have been received or you provide evidence that they have been sent back, where permitted.

Where applicable, the refund will include the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered for the original order. Additional amounts paid for an enhanced or expedited delivery service may not be refundable.

After a refund has been processed, your bank or payment provider may take additional time to make the funds available.

Items that may not qualify for a change-of-mind return

Subject to applicable statutory rights, a change-of-mind return may not be available for:

  • genuinely personalised or custom-made equipment;
  • software or digital products where cancellation rights have been lost in accordance with the applicable rules;
  • items returned outside the applicable return period;
  • equipment purchased wholly or mainly for business purposes where a return has not been agreed;
  • products that cannot be identified as those originally supplied; or
  • goods returned without the required authorisation.

This does not remove any rights or remedies that may apply where equipment is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.

Order cancellations before dispatch

Contact Corey Technical as soon as possible if you need to cancel or amend an order before it has been dispatched.

We will confirm whether fulfilment has started and whether the order can still be changed or cancelled. Some specialist or individually sourced configurations may enter fulfilment shortly after an order is accepted.

Any cancellation rights available to consumers under applicable law remain unaffected.

Statutory rights

Nothing in this Returns & Refunds policy excludes or restricts any statutory rights or remedies that apply to you.

Consumer rights and business-to-business contractual rights are not identical. Where there is a conflict between this general guidance and rights that cannot legally be excluded, the applicable legal rights will take precedence.

Request a return

To request a return, report delivery damage or tell us about an incorrect order, contact Corey Technical with your order number and a brief explanation of the issue.

Please wait for return authorisation and instructions before sending any equipment.
