Is the Ti480U right for your work?
The Ti480U is the highest-capability model in Fluke’s Ultra Series, built for experienced thermographers and industrial teams working on critical assets, demanding processes or applications where smaller temperature differences must be captured clearly.
It combines 640 × 480 native resolution, 50 mK thermal sensitivity and 1280 × 960 SuperResolution to reveal finer thermal contrast and preserve more evidence across small, complex or distant targets. Its extended −20°C to 1,200°C measurement range supports high-temperature process work, while fully radiometric video allows temperature changes to be recorded and analysed over time.

Quick lens selector
Standard lens 25°
The best all-round choice
Choose this for mixed electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building-services inspections at close to moderate distances.
Wide-angle 44°
For large targets in confined spaces
Choose this when you need to capture more of a nearby panel, room, wall or installation without stepping farther back.
2× telephoto lens 12°
For smaller or more distant components
Choose this for elevated equipment, outdoor switchgear and components that cannot be approached closely.
4× telephoto lens 7°
For specialised long-distance inspections
Choose this when a small target must be resolved from a substantial distance and maximum reach matters more than scene width.

| Key benefit | Best balance of scene coverage, target detail and versatility | Captures large nearby targets where stepping farther back is difficult | Places more detector pixels across smaller or more distant components | Finest target detail at distance of the four Ti480U lenses |
| Main drawback | Less detail than a telephoto lens on small, distant targets | Lowest spatial detail; poorly suited to small targets at distance | Narrower view and 1 m minimum focus distance reduce close-range flexibility | Very narrow view and 3 m minimum focus distance make it the least versatile |
| Best suited to | Mixed inspections at close to moderate working distances | Large targets and confined areas with limited working space | Routine inspections of smaller targets that cannot be approached closely | Specialist long-distance inspections of small or inaccessible targets |
| Typical inspection work | Electrical panels, motors, pumps, HVAC systems and general building services | Large cabinets, plant rooms, walls, ceilings and building interiors | Elevated switchgear, busbars, cable terminations and guarded machinery | Overhead connections, distant substation components and inaccessible equipment |

The Ti480U combines 640 × 480 native infrared resolution, 50 mK thermal sensitivity, 1280 × 960 SuperResolution and a −20°C to 1,200°C measurement range. This makes it well suited to advanced inspection work in process manufacturing, power generation, heat treatment and heavy industry.
Inspect higher-temperature processes with one camera
The extended measurement range supports inspections of furnaces, kilns, heat-treatment equipment, hot pipework and other process assets operating beyond the Ti401U’s 650°C limit.
Reveal finer temperature differences
With thermal sensitivity of 50 mK, the Ti480U can distinguish subtle temperature variations across complex equipment. This helps inspectors identify developing faults and examine heat distribution in greater detail.
Capture more detail for later review
SuperResolution can produce 1280 × 960 thermal images for closer examination and reporting. The 13-megapixel visible-light camera and adjustable IR-Fusion blending make each thermal finding easier to connect to the correct component or location.
Record and analyse changing conditions
Fully radiometric video captures temperature data as conditions change, making it useful for monitoring start-up cycles, load changes and transient heating. Images and recordings can be reviewed in SmartView IR to refine the analysis and prepare clear inspection reports.

Fluke Ti480U FAQs
Clear answers to the most common questions about selecting, ordering and using the Fluke Ti480U.
The Ti480U is the most capable model in the Ultra Series. It is particularly well suited to advanced industrial inspections where detecting finer temperature differences, measuring temperatures above 650°C, recording fully radiometric video or producing higher-resolution images for detailed analysis is important.
For routine electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building inspections that do not require these capabilities, the Ti401U may provide better value.
The supplied 25° × 19° standard lens provides the best balance of coverage and detail for general inspections.
Choose the optional 44° × 34° wide-angle lens for large nearby targets or confined areas. The 2× telephoto lens is better for smaller components that cannot be approached closely, while the 4× telephoto lens provides the finest detail on small or inaccessible targets at longer distances.
If you are unsure, tell us what you inspect and your normal working distance, and we can recommend the most appropriate lens.
Yes. The Ti480U supports interchangeable standard, wide-angle, 2× telephoto and 4× telephoto lenses, so you can add another lens if your inspection requirements change.
Choosing the correct lens at the outset is still worthwhile because field of view, spatial resolution and minimum focusing distance vary significantly between lenses.
The Ti480U measures temperatures from −20°C to 1,200°C. This extended upper range makes it suitable for high-temperature applications including furnaces, kilns, heat-treatment equipment and industrial process machinery.
Measurement accuracy is ±2°C or ±2%, whichever is greater, under the specified operating conditions.
The camera has a native infrared resolution of 640 × 480, providing 307,200 temperature-measurement pixels.
Its SuperResolution mode can produce 1280 × 960 thermal images for closer examination and reporting. The Ti480U also provides 50 mK thermal sensitivity to help distinguish subtle temperature differences across complex equipment.
No. The Ti480U operates independently and can capture, review and store thermal images without being connected to a computer. No subscription is required for normal camera operation.
Captured images and radiometric recordings can be transferred to Fluke SmartView IR for more detailed analysis, adjustment and report preparation.
Yes. The Ti480U is supplied ready for use with manufacturer calibration documentation. Fluke recommends a calibration interval of two years, although your organisation’s quality procedures or industry requirements may call for more frequent calibration.
A standard manufacturer calibration report should not be confused with a UKAS-accredited calibration certificate. Please contact us if accredited calibration is required.
Lead time depends on current stock availability and the selected lens configuration. We will confirm the expected delivery timeframe when your order or quotation is prepared.
UK delivery is tracked and insured. You will not receive a separate customs, duty or import VAT demand when the order arrives.
In-stock camera and lens configurations are normally delivered within 1–5 working days. Configurations that are not currently in stock can take up to six weeks. UK customers will not receive a separate import or customs bill.
Yes. The Ti300U can be returned within 60 days, subject to our Returns & Refunds Policy and the product being returned in re-saleable condition. Please contact Corey Technical before returning the camera or any accessories so that we can arrange the next steps.
Tell us your application, target size and working distance. We’ll help confirm the most suitable camera and lens configuration.
