Standalone operation
The G61 operates as a standalone professional thermal imaging camera. You can capture, review, annotate and store thermal images directly on its 4.3-inch touchscreen without connecting to a computer during the inspection.
Images are saved as radiometric JPEG files containing temperature measurement data. With a removable 64 GB microSD card, the camera has capacity for approximately 60,000 images, allowing inspectors to document extensive maintenance work before transferring files for analysis.
Analysis and reporting software
HIKMICRO Analyzer provides desktop tools for reviewing radiometric thermal images, examining temperature measurements and preparing professional inspection reports.
The software is available without an additional licence purchase, giving contractors and maintenance teams a way to analyse and present findings without immediately committing to a paid reporting subscription.
For mobile working, HIKMICRO Viewer allows compatible camera images to be transferred and shared using a smartphone or tablet. This is useful when findings need to be discussed with a colleague or sent to a customer before a formal report is completed.
Inspection routes and on-camera reporting
The G61 supports HIKMICRO Inspection Route, allowing maintenance teams to work through planned inspection points and keep findings organised by equipment or location.
HIKMICRO Inspector can be used to prepare inspection routes on a computer, helping teams standardise repeat surveys across electrical panels, motors, pumps and other critical equipment.
On-camera documentation includes voice notes up to 60 seconds, text notes up to 200 characters, GPS location information and compass data. These features help preserve context that might otherwise be lost between the inspection and the final report.
Connectivity and remote viewing
The G61 supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB-C and HDMI connectivity.
Radiometric video can be streamed over UVC or Wi-Fi for compatible viewing and recording workflows. This provides additional flexibility when thermal imagery needs to be monitored or analysed away from the camera's own display.
The integrated laser distance meter also measures target distance, helping inspectors record working distances and configure measurement parameters more accurately.
Software functionality and compatibility can depend on the installed firmware, application version and connected device.

The HIKMICRO G61 is built for professional electrical thermographers, industrial reliability engineers, utility maintenance specialists and inspection contractors who need detailed thermal images across complex equipment, larger installations and critical assets.
Its 640 × 480 native detector, 25° × 19° standard lens and 0.68 mrad spatial resolution provide an important advantage over the G41: 78% more native thermal pixels across a wider field of view, while retaining the same standard-lens spatial resolution. This allows inspectors to capture more of an installation without giving up fine target detail.
Combined with multiple autofocus modes, interchangeable lenses and built-in Inspection Route, the G61 is particularly suited to demanding inspection programmes where reliable temperature measurements, component identification and professional reporting are essential.

The HIKMICRO G61 combines 640 × 480 native thermal resolution, 50 Hz imaging, a 25° × 19° standard lens, multiple autofocus modes and structured inspection tools. It is designed for professionals who need to assess complex assets, identify smaller temperature anomalies and capture detailed evidence for maintenance and reliability decisions.
What is SuperIR?
HIKMICRO SuperIR enhances captured thermal images from 640 × 480 to 1280 × 960 pixels, improving the presentation of edges and fine thermal patterns.
It does not increase the camera's native detector resolution, but helps produce clearer image output for reviewing equipment condition and preparing professional inspection reports.
Capture more detail across larger installations
With 307,200 native thermal pixels, the G61 captures 78% more pixels than the G41 and almost three times as many as the G31.
Crucially, its 25° × 19° standard lens maintains the same 0.68 mrad spatial resolution as the G41's narrower standard lens. This allows inspectors to examine a wider installation while retaining fine target detail — particularly valuable across large electrical assemblies, complex machinery and critical industrial assets.
Maintain image clarity as working distances change
Laser-assisted, continuous, automatic, manual and touch focusing help inspectors obtain sharply focused thermal images when moving between equipment at different distances.
The included 25° × 19° lens balances scene coverage with detailed inspection capability. Optional wide-angle and telephoto lenses extend its usefulness to larger installations and small or distant components.
Measure electrical and industrial equipment with confidence
The G61 measures temperatures from −20°C to 650°C, covering electrical distribution infrastructure, mechanical equipment and most conventional industrial maintenance applications.
Adjustable emissivity, reflected-temperature compensation and other measurement settings help inspectors account for the conditions affecting temperature measurement.
Build comprehensive inspection records
Inspection Route, radiometric image capture, GPS information, voice and text annotations, HIKMICRO Viewer and Analyzer support detailed documentation throughout the inspection workflow.
For professional thermographers and reliability teams, this helps create traceable evidence, compare findings across repeated inspections and communicate maintenance priorities clearly.
